It’s Time for the Third Edition of the Good Energy Conference!

We are proud to announce the third edition of our Good Energy Conference, this year with a tagline Re-Arm With Good Energy. The conference has a regional focus, bringing together key actors of citizen energy from Croatia, Southeast Europe, and neighboring Western Balkan countries.

When? October 23, 2025
Where? At our familiar location: WESPA Spaces, Radnička cesta 50, Zagreb

Our focus is on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and creating space for exchanging concrete solutions that can accelerate a just energy transition with citizens in the centre.

Why are we gathering the region?

Although EU directives provide a framework for the development of energy communities, their implementation remains slow in both Croatia and most countries in the region. This conference aims to help change that through three key approaches:

1. Sharing real-life experiences

Good practices as well as “lessons learned” will be presented by energy community initiatives from across the region.
We aim to clearly show what works, what doesn’t, and what is needed to replicate successful models and scale the citizen energy movement.

2. Dialogue with policymakers and institutions

The conference will gather experts from relevant ministries, national institutions, cities, regulators, system operators, public funds, and other key actors to engage in open discussions about current barriers to energy community development:

  • Why is energy sharing still not implemented?
  • How can we overcome administrative obstacles?
  • What financing mechanisms are needed to support citizen energy?

3. Agreeing on concrete next steps

In the final part of the conference, the goal is to bring together policymakers, system operators, and citizen energy initiatives to define a shared vision for community energy, with at least three actionable priorities for removing barriers and accelerating the implementation of EU directives in practice.

Who do we expect?

We expect around 100 participants, including representatives of community initiatives, experts from institutions, and energy operators from 12 countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, and Croatia.

The draft program of the conference is available here, a detailed program is coming soon!
