About the project
The accelerator for social entrepreneurs launched the ACT Group , in cooperation with one of the world’s leading microfinance funds, the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) and the department of the Fund for technical support (EFSE DF) , which encourages the development impact of its investments, and Erste Bank,which already for several years she has been implementing a unique program of social banking and their foundation Erste Stiftung .
Hundreds of social enterprises are active in Croatia, but this form of business, based on the principles of social, environmental and economic sustainability, in which the revenue-generating income is wholly or mainly invested in the welfare of the community, is still in perpetuity, especially in comparison with other countries EU members.
The key challenges faced by social entrepreneurs in Croatia are the lack of business support and the difficult access to finance for development and growth. The Accelerator for Social Entrepreneurs is a new support program that responds to these challenges – solid business entrepreneurs will provide business support for the development and implementation of new projects.
The result
The Green Energy Cooperative is one of 15 social enterprises selected for participation in the Accelerator. Through the program, we want to design a solution for the development of the first Croatian online financing platform for civic crowdfunding (RES crowdinvesting).
