In Križevci, on April 13, 2018, at the Conference Center of the Development Center and Technology Park Križevci, Franjo Tudjman 20, starting at 10:00, will be held the conference “Mayor Agreement – Creating Sustainable Communities” organized by the Green Energy Co-operative with the support of the City Križevci, the Association of Cities in Croatia and the European Energy Cities Association, which brings together more than 1,000 cities in 30 countries.
Climate change is a major challenge for today’s society, and the role of cities and municipalities is crucial to the improvement and sustainable development of the community. That is why the Initiative The Mayor Agreement encourages many cities in Europe that all activities in the fight against climate change are planned, implemented and measurable.
At the conference participants will be:
- to learn firsthand about the current status of the initiative The Mayor’s agreement from our guest Claire Roumet, the Director of the Energy Cities Association
- hear examples of good practice from Croatian cities in implementing the measures provided for in the Action Plan for Sustainable Community Development (SEAP)
- to take part in the discussion on why SEAP objectives are slow, how to realize the projects and what are the financing options
- learn about the support program – Accelerator for the development of sustainable development projects, the first such support program for local authorities in Croatia
The conference is intended for mayors, mayors and their co-workers dealing with development, economy, energy and the environment and all interested stakeholders who want to participate in the strengthening and creation of a sustainable community.
Green Energy Cooperative as an Associated Partner Initiative The Mayor’s Agreement , in cooperation with Energy Cities , provides the opportunity to specifically assist local authorities in the implementation of SEAP / SECAP activities through a support program – Accelerator for the development of sustainable community development projects.
