Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ) is a cooperative that deals in planning, development, management and financing of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency projects.

The cooperative was founded with the aim of dealing in the local community with special emphasis on sustainable tourism development, agriculture, commercial and public institutions.

Realization of investments in sustainable energy projects, involvement of the local community in projects related with energy with the final goal of putting energy production in the hands of the citizens.

Vision

Our vision is to put energy production in the hands of the citizens of Croatia and Europe.

Through our approach we want to show that a sustainable market system based on renewable energy is possible, and that the energy sector can be put to service of citizens and other economic activities.

What we do?

The cooperative works on designing and managing sustainable projects in energy sector with specific emphasis on the projects in the local community. The cooperative offers its clients a comprehensive services and activities, including:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Planning and managing of RES projects

STUDIES & PROJECTS

Preparation of cases and investment studies, preliminary design and projects documents

EU PROJECTS

Project application and project management from national and EU funds

RES "TURN-KEY"

Supply and installation of renewable energy resources and energy efficiency on the principle “turn-key”

FINANCING

Support in financing projects in direct contact with financial institutions through alternative financial mechanisms such as crowdfunding, ESCO service, co-financing through funds.

Implementation of its own projects with specific emphasis on the commercial and public sector, tourism and agriculture

The cooperative collaborates with a few reputable domestic companies in the field of solar energy (thermal and photovoltaic system), internal and public lighting as well as in the field of energy efficiency.

SustainCamp – Sustainable camps in Croatia

2015.

Project SustainCamp promotes sustainable management of energy, water and waste in camps in Croatia. As the best rated project in the competition for educational, research and development projects (OIRS) in 2014, SustainCamp has ensured the financial support from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency.

Agrifficiency- Efficiency in agriculture sector

In collaboration with the Cooperative of Ethical Financing, Green Energy Cooperative has started a project that supports agriculture producers and processors called Agrifficiency. The project is supposed to ensure technical and financing support for using renewable energy and energy efficiency for their production process.

Biomasud Plus- Developing the sustainable market of residential Mediterranean solid biofuels

The main goal of project Biomasud Plus from Programme Horizon 2020 is dissemination and market development of the Biomasud label in order to promote sustainable use of the residential Mediterranean solid biofuels. Together with Croatia, participating in the project are partners from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Turkey, Slovenia and Greece.

Crowdfunding Academy is a non-formal educational programme on developing crowdfunding campaigns aimed for training cooperatives, municipalities and cities, start-up companies, entrepreneurs, craftsmen and all citizens with interesting and innovative projects. Organized by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Croatia, social enterprise BRODOTO and Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ), the first Crowdfunding Academy took place in spring of 2015 in Zagreb with 14 participating teams.

EffieRent- Efficiency in service of small renters

EffiRent- Efficiency in service of small renters

The project was initiated with the aim of applying energy efficiency measures and renewable energy sources to small renters with satisfying their specific needs and ensuring technical and financial support for projects. At this project the cooperation with the firm Rentlio (www.rentl.io) was realized, which developed the management system for small facilities in tourism and works on developing a system which will monitor energy consumption and propose the measures of saving.

With the establishment of electric energy market and the separation of energy activities to production, transmission/distribution and supply/market trade, possibilities appear for new business models connecting with supplying of electricity’s end users.

Energy Independent School Ostrog in Kastel Luksic

2013.

After a successful crowdfunding campaign that was part of UNDP’s energy cooperative support project, where some members of ZEZ were participating, the cooperative, in collaboration with Energy Cooperative Kastela took over the management and development of the first energy independent school in Croatia.
